The Cleveland Browns hosted a special field groundbreaking ceremony at East Cleveland City Schools’ Shaw Stadium as part of their Browns Give Back Foundation on April 30, 2021.
April 30th, at Shaw Stadium in East Cleveland, the Cleveland Browns hosted a special field groundbreaking ceremony at East Cleveland City Schools’ Shaw Stadium as part of their Browns Give Back Foundation. The Browns plan to refurbish the field that once housed the Cleveland Rams Football team…now used by Shaw High School. Shaw Stadium is home to Shaw High School in East Cleveland. The site does carry some significance for the NFL: it was once home to the Cleveland Rams, which now are the Los Angeles Rams. Additionally, the Cleveland Browns used it as a practice field in the 1960s and 1970s.
Shaw Stadium will mark the 10th high-quality synthetic turf field installed in Northeast Ohio by the Browns, courtesy of the Haslam and Johnson families and Browns Give Back, since the team’s field initiative launched in 2016.
For the 10th year in a row, SCG Fields has been a part of this journey with the browns – and onward we march!
