The home field of the Northwestern Wildcats college baseball team. The Wildcats are in Division I and are members of the Big Ten Conference. The field has a seating capacity of 600 people.  With baseball being a spring sport and the typical Chicago winters, Northwestern selected a synthetic turf field. Looking to build a new or upgrade your baseball field?

There are many factors to evaluate when building a baseball field.  All of them require expertise and lots of planning to ensure the quality of your field is constructed and maintained to last for years. Knowing the basic outline can help you plan, budget, and get the assistance and advice you need. Depending on where your baseball field will be located (geographically), you will have to consider certain environmental conditions and make important decisions about items like irrigation, drainage, turf, and soil types you would like to use. The amount of intended use will also factor into what type of turfgrass and soil should be used in your field. It will also alter maintenance needs.
