About this project
Over two decades ago, SCG Fields constructed the new stadium surface at Jacobs Field – now known as Progressive Field. Since installation in 1993, SCG Fields has been contracted to make modifications and upgrades to the field surface, but the base system has never required replacement.
The surface features a 95,000 square foot natural grass system which utilizes a combination of four varieties of Kentucky Blue Grass. In November 2017, the clay warning track was converted to a pour-in-place rubber surface – similar to what is used on running tracks – allowing for better drainage system performance.
Progressive Field is home to Cleveland’s Major League Baseball team, the Cleveland Indians.
