About this project
Our team knows Florida, the heavy rains, the high-winds, destructive hurricanes, and the summer’s blazing heat can take a toll on your athletic fields. At Viking Stadium, we began removing the worn-out synthetic turf system and discovered divots from an unstable base and pooling water in major areas of the playing surface. Tough rains had overloaded the stone base and it wasn’t draining properly. Six inches of new stone was installed under our fabric and flat panel drain system, saving the school thousands by leaving the perimeter collector system intact.
The school also needed solutions for its track and field areas. SCG resurfaced the existing track with Plexitrac, a latex material for durability and safety. A new perimeter curb was constructed adding an additional track lane, which enables the school to host more events.
Completed just in time for football season in August 2018, the newly renovated Viking Stadium adds functionality and aesthetics to the campus at Bishop Verot Catholic High School.
